Fastest time on Friday for Gabriele Piana

30 August 2019

Gabriele Piana was the fastest driver on Friday, posting a time of 2m05.216 at the Nürburgring in today’s second free practice session. The RN Vision STS BMW driver posted the fastest time of the day in the final minutes of the session.

For most of the session the #14 Equipe Verschuur McLaren of Benjamin Lessennes and Daniel McKay had been on the top of the timing screens, but lost that position right before the end when Piana went 0.069s faster.

Third fastest overall and second in Silver was the #25 MDM Motorsport BMW of Knap and Udell, with Van der Ende and McKay in the #8 Ekris Motorsport M4 in fourth place. Nicolas Schöll’s time of 2m06.124 was good enough for second place in Pro-Am, ahead of the #2 Leipert Motorsport Mercedes of Luci Trefz and Marcus Paverud.

Their teammates Jan Kisiel and Max Koebolt were 14th fastest overall, 1.924s off Piana’s pace - and also the last car within two seconds of the pace setter.

Johan Vannerum set the fastest time in the Am class, just 0.048s faster than Guillaume Mondron in the #100 JAC Motors Audi and another 0.099s quicker than David Loger in the #48 CMR Alpine.
