Allied-Racing confirms 2019 GT4 European Series squad

12 April 2019

Allied-Racing returns to the GT4 European Series series this season with a pair of Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsports.

Team owner Jan Kasperlik will race alongside young Austrian talent Nicolas Schöll, who claimed victory in the AM class in the last four races of the season and finished third in the AM championship.

The Austrian, who is a member of Allied Racing's Junior Program, will be very busy this season. In only his second season in motorsport, Schöll will race in the GT4 European Series as well as the Porsche Carrera Cup.

"It is definitely a great challenge for me and I will do my best to win the GT4 European Series Pro-AM championship with my team boss Jan Kasperlik as my partner," said Schöll.

"As a team manager, I hope that we can satisfy all drivers racing in our team, that the new Porsche will work fine and that we have some skills to show and that we will still have a lot of fun," said Kasperlik. "It's good to have young drivers in our team, for their development."

"From a driver's perspective, I want to fight for the championship together with Nic. We will not race at Brands Hatch because of Nic's Carrera Cup commitments and we said that we'll win together and lose together, so we'll only have five races to gain points. We have to work hard from the beginning and have a little bit luck, because the field is strong again."

Reigning GT4 European Series AM champion Niki Leutwiler joins the German team, after two European seasons  with TFT Racing.

"First of all, I am very fond of TFT Racing and will be working with them on another project this year. I wasn't allowed to drive alone anymore and I didn't want to continue in a class I have already won and Jan Kasperlik offered me a solution," said Leutwiler.

The Swiss driver, who won three races in 2018 and raced with Kasperlik at the GT4 International Cup in Bahrain, will team up with Germany's Benjamin Mazatis.

Mazatis raced a Reiter Engineering-entered KTM X-Bow GT4 and was in contention for the 2018 GT4 Central European Cup title until the final round of the season.

"I'm really happy to go the next step in my career and join Allied-Racing for the GT4 European Series in the new Porsche Cayman GT4," said Mazatis. "I'm really excited for that new chapter of my life and can't wait for the season to start!"
