Freddie Hunt joins Steven Liquorish at Brookspeed International Motorsport
Freddie Hunt, son of 1976 Formula One World Champion James Hunt, will race in the 2017 GT4 European Series Northern Cup. The 29-year-old joins fellow Brit Steven Liquorish in the #40 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR this season.
Hunt raced in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series last season and will join GT4 European Series regular Liquorish, as he aims to start a full-time GT and sportscar career. Liquorish and team mate Graeme Mundy finished sixth in the GT4 Am class in 2016, scoring four class podium finishes throughout the season.
After the 2016 season finale at Zandvoort, Brookspeed International Motorsport shipped its cars to Abu Dhabi for the 12-hour race at Yas Marina. They then went onto Bathurst, where the team scored a second and third place finish in the Bathurst 12 Hour Intercontinental GT Challenge.
Some 35,000km and almost five months later, the containers with the cars returned to Genoa, Italy on Sunday. From there the #40 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR will go straight to Misano for the opening round of the 2017 season.
