1) Please describe Enovation Consulting and your collaboration with SRO

Enovation Consulting is a leading FIA Environmentally Accredited and B Corp-certified specialist sports and sustainability consultancy. We work with global sports rights holders and stakeholders to provide a strategic, long-term approach to building value for companies, people and planet.

We’ve worked extensively with SRO over the past year to help the organization amplify its sustainability performance, providing workshops to aid SRO’s competitors to use an environmental toolkit SRO has custom produced for them.

We have also conducted an ESG impact assessment to help SRO understand their current greatest impact sustainability areas, as well as identify areas for improvement, which could yield positive change in terms of environmental protection and sustainable practices overall.

2) Why having sustainability conversations and actions in motorsports is so important?

As motorsports has so many stakeholders with vested interest in the organizations that are involved, it’s crucial that these conversations take place to keep these stakeholders appraised of the sustainability performances relevant to them. For example, fans are increasingly demanding sustainability stewardship from companies and having public engaging conversations and disclosing the sustainability initiatives that the organization is implementing is a good example of it.

By openly speaking about the progress being made, you’re not only letting your stakeholders know about what you’re doing but also encouraging them to follow suit through leading by example. That way, the impact a single entity is making is compounded, as their influence is being leveraged to encourage others to begin their own sustainability journey.

3) Can you tell us more on the sustainability workshops you recently facilitated at SRO’s events?

We were delighted to have the opportunity to deliver stakeholder workshops this year at the Misano and Snetteron circuits. The sessions included an introductory overview of sustainability, with a focus on both the impact of climate change on motorsports, and the impact of motorsports on climate. Furthermore, some of the positive strategic actions and initiatives already underway at SRO were showcased, before taking a closer look at the Team Decarbonization Toolkit (TDT), a tool for carbon reduction and carbon emissions calculation SRO has custom developed to aid it’s competitors on their decarbonization journeys.

The workshops were a useful setting for us to carry out some training on the use of the TDT, including the Carbon Footprint Calculator tool and to answer any questions or concerns from the group.

4) How can our teams benefit by using SRO’s decarbonization toolkit?

Alongside the main benefit of reducing emissions and environmental impact, there are other benefits for the teams such as time efficiency, team morale, financial savings and commercial opportunities.

5) In which fields do you see Enovation working together with SRO on building a sustainable future for motorsports?

We help sports rightsholders at varying stages of their sustainability journey, whether that means starting from the very beginning or developing a more advanced strategy.
